Today at Frank Wolfgang field, Delval’s annual Alumni baseball game was held. Although nobody was really keeping score, I was, and DVU’s baseball team came out on top and stuck it to it’s Alumni. The first inning was a little shaky and it looked like it was gonna be a long day for DVU, as its alumni scored four runs in the first inning. The game was back and forth all the way till the 7th inning and that is when DVU stepped on the motor. They scored six runs in the 7th inning and took a lead late in the game. And after that it was all DVU as the alumni did not have enough left in the tank to make a late comeback. This was a great way to start off the Saturday and even though I wasn’t out there playing with my teammates due to injury, it was great to see them come away with the victory! My stand out star of the game had to be James Eldridge, a sophomore out of, where else but Jamesburg New Jersey. He made the catch of the day in the first inning and killed the alumni’s first inning rally. Later on in the game he hit a double to score in a run. All around DVU looked pretty good in today’s game, they saw some good competition from some alumni who were really hungry for a win, as they are every year. We may need some more work in the field, but at least DVU can say, they took down their fellow alumni in todays game!
